Spring has finally sprung after a long, cold winter and that means it’s time to be outside enjoying the sun. If you want to check some experiences off that bucket list, look no further. From the arts, music, and food, we're putting you on to 9 activities you can try this spring and summer. We've got something for everyone, in every city.
Things to Do this Spring and Summer in Every Major City:
1. Be a Tattoo Artist at Drink & Ink
Location: Atlanta, Georgia
How many of y’all can say you’ve tattooed someone before? Unless you’re a tattoo artist—or you’ve been to prison—I’m guessing the answer is no. Drink & Ink ATL gives you a whole new kind of drinking experience, where certified tattoo artists teach you how to tattoo (on fake skin, ofc). If you’re tired of the usual sip-and-paint or the same ol’ happy hour, this one’s for you.
2. Immerse yourself in The Art Institute of Chicago
Location: Chicago, Illinois
No matter the time of year, you can never go wrong with a trip to the art museum. It's a perfect move for rainy days or when it's just way too hot out. And if you're in Chicago, you've got one of the best in the country right in your own backyard. So go for a chill solo date or bring some friends.
3. Attend R&B Night at Lucha Rosa Rooftop
Location: Washington D.C.
Is there anything better than listening to smooth R&B and eating good food under the stars? Spoiler: there’s not. Check out the Lucha Rosa Rooftop for good vibes and even better cocktails.
4. Support Black Creativity at Black on the Block
Location: Los Angeles, California
If your family cookout and local weekend market had a baby, it’d be Black on the Block. With Black art, music, and food, you already know it’s gonna be a good time. The next LA Market is on April 13, 2025, at the Los Angeles Center Studios. So my LA people—go ahead and cop those tickets now!
5. Catch a Vibe with Soul Summit music Collective
Location: Brooklyn, New York
IYKYK, Soul Summit is where music, community, and dance meet. Their events are a must-attend if you’re looking to diversify your music taste and meet new people!
6. Explore Trippy Art at Meow Wolf Museum
Location: Dallas, Texas
We’ve already talked about art museums, but Meow Wolf takes it to a whole nother level—or should we say world? Known for its psychedelic, interactive art installations, Meow Wolf Dallas will have you questioning up from down and left from right. You’ll leave confused, in the best way possible.
7. See your Favorite Artists Live at the Roots Picnic
Location: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Neo-soul lovers, stand up! The Roots Picnic, hosted by the legendary hip-hop group, is a full-on celebration of Black music. Expect everything from smooth, feel-it-in-your-soul R&B to high-energy, bass-blasting rap. One minute you'll be singing your heart out to D’Angelo, the next you’re twerking to GloRilla. It’s happening May 31–June 1, and it’s not too late to grab your tickets!
8. Party at a Museum Nightclub
Location: Houston, Texas
If you couldn’t tell, we love art and great music. And for all the H-town folks who are like us, you have to check out ArtClub. It’s a museum by day, club by night, with DJ sets and live music. Imagine getting lit to house music surrounded by dope art. That sounds like a fun night that’s anything but typical.
9. Get Active on an ATV Tour
Location: Miami, Florida
Y’all, you don’t have to wait for a trip to the DR to hop on an ATV—we’ve got 'em at the crib! Perfect for the adrenaline junkies who are over the usual beach, eat, and club routine in Miami. If you’re looking for something active and exciting, go ahead and book you a tour!
So, what’s the move this season? Get your group and start planning an activity, take advantage of the sun and all that it provides!
