Spiritual Spring Cleaning: How to Reset Your Energy This Season

Two people meditating

Spring is nature’s way of starting over, and honestly, we could all use a little bit of a restart right now. As flowers bloom and the days feel longer, it’s the perfect time to reset your energy and lighten whatever emotional loads you’re carrying.

Think of it as hitting the spiritual refresh button. Whether it’s school, work, or social life that’s got you feeling cluttered, these seven practices can help you shake the dust off your life, literally and figuratively, and step into the new season with purpose and drive.

7 Ways To Cleanse Your Spirit This Spring:

1. Declutter your Space

Out with the old, in with the new. One of the fastest ways to refresh your space is by cleaning it. It’s no surprise that so many make it a habit during spring. Those clothes you left on your bed? That one drawer filled with junk? They all carry old energy and old vibes. So take a few hours out of your day to deep clean your space; when your home becomes clear, your mind does too.

2. Journal It Out, Then Let It Go

When your mind feels cluttered, you can't clear it out as easily as cleaning up your room. But that's what brain dumping is for. Grab a journal or a piece of paper and write down whatever you’re thinking and feeling, letting the words flow. When you feel you’ve written enough, read it over and reflect on what’s been bothering you. Then you can rip or safely burn the page to let go of any thoughts that don’t serve you. Give it a try (and make sure you thank me later).

3. Detox Your Digital Space

Yes, spring cleaning can include your phone. Go through all your apps and clean them up—unfollowing people or deleting old messages and photos. You can even consider taking a social media break because sometimes we need to experience life without it. We spend a lot of time on our phones, so pausing from the screen is beneficial for creating productive, positive energy.

4. Make a Morning Ritual

Starting your day off right is so important. A little intentionality in the mornings can set you up to have a great day, so consider creating a routine. Before you pick up that phone, try journaling, stretching, meditating, or whatever else makes you feel good.

5. Make a Vision Board

Don't underestimate the power of a vision board! When it comes to completing your goals, having visuals of your dream life can be very motivating. Whether you want to start a business, get your master’s, or just vacation in Brazil, having a vision board can help you manifest the life of your dreams. To create a vision board, find pictures that resonate with your soul, print them out, and hang them up for a daily boost of energy.

6. Make Movement a Spiritual Practice

I know being physical isn't something most people look forward to, but it's essential for feeling good and looking even better. When you move your body, you connect to your body. You can exercise at the gym (or at home), do yoga, Pilates, or whatever method speaks to you. Allow your body to lead and your mind to catch up. Movement is healing and can take the emotional weight off your shoulders. Take advantage of everything your body can do!

7. Have a "Do Nothing" Day

No, seriously, you should have a day with no plans or goals, just resting. A day of rest can be so powerful in resetting your energy. In stillness, your energy balances, and your nervous system gets a break, allowing you a fresh start. So kick up your feet and take a break!

Spring cleaning doesn’t have to be an all-day list of tasks, it's an invitation to start over with a fresh, and positive energy that makes you feel good. Let this season bring you back to whatever your truth is, and approach it with a healthy mindset.
